Latitude 30 reimagines the planting and program of an existing 1.2-acre garden, providing a drought-tolerant planting scheme with year-round interest and structure. The design mixes native plants with species from other Mediterranean climates, including South Africa and Australia, to create a distinctive and climate-appropriate plant palette.
The clients also wanted their garden to feature a central sports court. We designed a pickle-ball and basketball court surrounded by a low wooden fence and hedge. The hedge seamlessly blends the court into the garden while maintaining a visual connection across the yard. To further activate the court, we created a custom fire table and located it adjacent to the sports court.
